EBV VIRAL LYSATE
Catalog # EL-P-300; Size 1.0 mg
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
The EBV (Epstein Barr Virus) is induced in EBV transformed human P3-HR-1 cell line. The cells are pelleted at day 3 after induction (~40-45%% VCA positive by immunofluorescence assay) and the pellet is solubilized in 0.1% Triton X-100 and 0.1% SDC and characterized at the biochemical and immunologic levels to assure product consistency and performance.
PRODUCT COMPOSITION
The cell extract is subjected to
in vitro testing to ensure lack of infectivity. An infectivity assay is performed to indicate greater than 106 logs of kill for each lot of purified virus. The total protein concentration is determined by Pierce BCA assay.
RECOMMENDED USES
Immunodetection of antibodies to EBV using solid-phase enzyme immunoassay (EIA), WIB, dot-blotting and related techniques. The material could also be used for the purification of viral proteins.
STORAGE AND STABILITY
The viral extract is stable for at least one year when stored at –60
oC or below. To avoid freeze-thawing, unused material should be stored in aliquots, preferably under nitrogen in order to prevent oxidation.
AVAILABILITY
Distributed in vials containing 1 mg of protein, shipped on dry ice. Protein concentration ranges from 1.0 to 1.5 mg/ml.
